Improper Loading: As a novice, I made the following mistakes: knives pointed up (ouch!), bowls were facing the incorrect direction, and pans were obstructing the spray arms. If you load the dishwasher correctly, it will clean all of your dishes without scratching the surface or breaking any of them.
Issues with Hard Water: Limescale deposits caused by hard water may shorten the life and performance of your dishwasher. My dishwasher and other gadgets have been well-protected since I installed a water softener.
Ignoring Door Seals: During cycles, water stays inside thanks to the rubber seals that surround the door. Leaks and door faults may be avoided by routinely cleaning them to eliminate food particles and residues.
Dishwasher Ignorance: Hard to believe, but there are real health risks associated with not operating your dishwasher. The motor and hoses remain in excellent operating condition with regular usage. Even when it’s not completely loaded, I make it a point to run a cycle once a week.
Once, in a last-ditch effort to clean my dishwasher, I emptied a bottle of household cleaning into it. Unwise decision. The inside of the machine may rust and be damaged by certain substances. Only use items designed for use in dishwashers.

Running the dishwasher with just half of the load in it is inefficient since it wastes water and energy and increases the frequency of use, which may shorten the lifespan of the appliance. I now wait for it to be full before running it, making sure it is not overwhelmed.
Dishwasher Ignoring: Don’t do what I did at first when your dishwasher started making strange sounds; fix it immediately. Something may be broken or worn out, and this might be an indication of that. Avoiding future hassles is possible with early detection.
Putting Off Maintenance Checks: Having a professional inspect your equipment on a regular basis might catch problems before they escalate. Like a doctor’s appointment, I take my dishwasher in for an annual exam.
Misaligned: It wasn’t until I saw my dishwasher wasn’t emptying correctly that I understood how important it was to have it level. Lots of issues may be avoided with just a little leg modification.
