Instructions
Step 01
Preheat your oven to 375°F and get a 9×13 inch baking dish ready.
Step 02
Cook the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it up as it cooks until nicely browned and no pink remains.
Step 03
Add corn, cream of mushroom soup, half the cheddar cheese, milk, sour cream, onion powder, black pepper, and crumbled bacon to the skillet. Stir everything together until well combined.
Step 04
Spread the beef mixture evenly in your baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top, then arrange the tater tots in a single layer over everything.
Step 05
Bake uncovered for 40-45 minutes until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy on top.
Step 06
Remove from oven and sprinkle any remaining cheese over the hot tater tots. Return to oven for 5 more minutes until cheese melts.
Notes
- Let the casserole rest for 5-10 minutes before serving to help it set up and make cutting easier.
- You can substitute frozen corn for fresh or canned corn – just drain canned corn well.
- Cook the bacon ahead of time or use pre-cooked bacon bits to save time.
